How do I find Black-owned businesses near me?
Browse the newBWS Directory. Search by name or category, or open your city to see storefronts near you. When we can tell your general location we preview your city automatically, no permission prompt needed. Online sellers ship wherever you are.
Do online sellers ship nationwide?
Yes. Online sellers in the directory ship regardless of where you are, and most ship across the United States. Look for the ships-to detail on each listing.
My city has no listings yet. Why?
The directory is national and growing city by city. If we do not have storefronts in your city yet, you will still find online sellers that ship to you, and you can add the first business in your city. Verification is free.
What does verified mean on newBWS?
Verified means an owner claimed the listing and newBWS confirmed it is Black-owned through the verification process. Reputation like cosigns and vouches is shown only on verified listings, never on unclaimed ones.
How do I get my Black-owned business listed?
Search the directory for your business. If it is already listed from our public data, claim it: confirm you are the owner and take it over in a few minutes. If it is not listed yet, add it from the directory. Either way, verification is free, and once you are verified a badge confirms your business is Black-owned. Claiming puts you on the movement pages and gives you a direct inquiry channel.
How does newBWS help owners find customers?
A claimed, verified listing places you in the national directory and on the buy-Black movement pages, where people are actively searching for Black-owned businesses to spend with. Shoppers and other members reach you through a direct inquiry channel, with no middleman. The directory connects intent to businesses, routing people who are already looking, rather than promising any particular volume of traffic.
Is newBWS local or national?
National. The directory covers Black-owned businesses across the country and online, and it serves local searches: filter by city to find businesses near you, or shop online sellers who ship nationwide. Location is a filter, not a requirement. Whether a member sells down the street or across the country, they are part of the same national network.
